Ingredients

Enough for 8 x 8 inch pizzas

  • 500g passata
  • 1 medium onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano

Method

  1. Fry the onion and garlic in a small saucepan over a medium heat, stirring all the time, until the onion starts to turn translucent (approx 2 minutes).
  2. Add the passata and the oregano.
  3. Bring to the boil then turn down the heat and leave to gently bubble for 20 minutes.
  4. Take the saucepan off the heat and use a hand blender until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Use straightaway, or cool and store in the fridge for 24 hours, or freeze.
